A calibrated dipstick is a compliance requirement for most fuel tanks. The dipstick is marked in increments with the Safe Fill Level being marked (SFL). The tanker driver is required to dip the tank before filling to determine the volume of fuel to be delivered.
We can make a calibrated dipstick for an older tank with the following information – Diameter ø x length. If you have a split tank, it is diameter ø x length from each end of tank to the dividing walls between the fuels. Also check your tank has a dropper pipe in the fill port to hold the dipstick in place and note the height of the dip stem on top of the tank.
